Great Burn Study Group is truly a community organization.

Every year, volunteers contribute hundreds of days protecting, studying, and restoring resources in the Great Burn through activities such as:

  • Animal and plant inventories
  • Trail repair
  • Relocating campsites out of sensitive areas
  • Monitoring and controlling weeds

Students with our annual University of Montana volunteer program learn valuable skills through a rigorous backcountry wilderness curriculum designed just for us -- and may be eligible to get college credit for a trip.

We also depend on friends like you to support our advocacy efforts through writing letters, attending policy meetings, and voting.

Check out our calendar for notices about upcoming stewardship trips and other important dates. You may also want to sign up to get on our mailing list.*

Finally, please consider making a tax--deductible donation by clicking the button below. No gift is too small, and we work hard to get the most out of every dollar.
